Illinois Beginning Orchard Academy – Spring 2026

The University of Illinois Extension is offering a six-week online training series designed for aspiring and current commercial fruit growers. This course covers everything from site selection and orchard design to pruning, pest management, and marketing your harvest. Learn the essentials for growing apples, peaches, plums, cherries, pears, and specialty fruits like pawpaws and quince — and take the first step toward a thriving orchard!

Dates: February 19 – April 2, 2026 (Thursdays, 7–8:30 PM CST via Zoom)

Cost: $50 for all six sessions — includes recordings, handouts, and checklists

No class: Week of March 12
